Predictive, progressive, preview, power: choosing a dialing mode

An autodialer is not one feature but several modes, each balancing agent productivity against customer experience.
Progressive
The system dials only when an agent is free. No abandoned calls, steady productivity — a safe default.
Predictive
The system dials ahead of agent availability using statistics. Highest productivity on large lists, but requires enough agents and careful abandonment-rate control.
Preview
The agent reads the customer’s record first, then chooses to dial. Best for high-value, relationship-driven calls.
Power
Rapid sequential dialing, one line per agent. Popular with sales teams working short lead lists.
A note on compliance
Whatever mode you use, respect consent, Do-Not-Disturb registers and calling-hour rules. Your dialer should help you enforce them.
